Obitix Inc. ("Obitix," "we," "our," or "us") operates obitix.com and the Obitix software platform used by funeral homes, crematories, transport technicians, and authorized family contacts for chain-of-custody tracking, case coordination, and operational notifications. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you use our website, software, or SMS/text messaging services. By using Obitix, you agree to this policy.

2. Information We Collect

  • Account & contact information: name, email address, mobile/phone number, business/organization name, role (for example admin, staff, technician, or family), and login credentials.
  • Service & case information: transport and custody records, location/GPS data related to assigned transports, documents uploaded to a case, voice logs, and related operational notes entered by authorized users.
  • SMS / messaging information: mobile phone numbers used for text notifications, opt-in/opt-out status, message delivery metadata, and replies such as STOP or HELP.
  • Automatically collected: IP address, browser/device data, usage analytics, cookies, and similar technologies.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and operate the Obitix platform and customer support
  • To coordinate funeral transport, custody events, and case updates
  • To send transactional SMS/text messages about transport status, custody alerts, assignment notices, authentication/security alerts, and other service-related updates
  • To improve product experience, security, and reliability
  • To send marketing communications only where you have opted in
  • To meet legal, regulatory, and compliance obligations

4. SMS / Text Messaging Privacy

Obitix may send SMS/text messages related to our deathcare operations platform, including transport status updates, custody/event alerts, technician or family notifications, and account-related notices. Message frequency varies based on case activity; you may receive up to 30 messages per month depending on your role and the number of active cases. Message and data rates may apply.

We do not sell, rent, or share mobile phone numbers or SMS opt-in information with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile information is used only to deliver Obitix service messages and related support.

You can opt out of SMS at any time by replying STOP. For help, reply HELP or email support@obitix.com. Consent to receive SMS is not a condition of purchasing Obitix services.

5. Sharing of Information

We may share information with service providers that help us operate Obitix (for example hosting, SMS delivery such as Twilio, email, analytics, and payment processors), only as needed to provide the service and under appropriate confidentiality obligations. We may also share information when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security. We do not sell personal data.

6. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal and case-related data, including access controls and encryption in transit where applicable. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

7. Data Rights

You may request access, correction, deletion, or marketing/SMS opt-out for your data, subject to legal and operational retention requirements for custody records. Contact us at support@obitix.com.

8. Retention

We retain information for as long as needed to provide the service, meet legal and compliance obligations, resolve disputes, and maintain accurate chain-of-custody records. Demo/marketing inquiries may be retained for up to 24 months. Analytics data may be retained for approximately 12 to 36 months.

9. Children's Privacy

Obitix is not intended for individuals under 18 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.

10. Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The revised date will be posted at the top of this page. Continued use of Obitix after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
